GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Gahanna Christian Academy was founded in 1980 as a faith based outreach ministry that would not be 100% dependent on tuition funds for its operating expenses. Funds for the operation of GCA come from four main sources: tuition, free-will gifts (donations), fund-raising projects, and programs (e.g., Extended Care).

Presently, tuition does account for over 90% of GCA's income. However, we are working hard to change our heavy reliance on tuition income Through the Partnership Program, donors can be specific as to which programs or activities they want to support with their money. We encourage you to prayerfully consider how God would have you partner with GCA in providing a quality, Christ-centered education to hundreds of young people every year.

Partnership Fund Drive

Gahanna Christian Academy (GCA) was established in 1980 to partner with parents as they fulfilled their Biblical responsibility to train their children to become men and women fully equipped in every area of life – mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We believe God created each student with their own unique gifts and abilities and our curriculum is multi-faceted to enable each student to achieve their full potential in life.

For over 26 years, thousands of students in grades K – 12 have received a Christ centered education. The Bible is integrated into every subject so students are taught more than just facts and theories – they are taught Biblical principals and moral values that fully prepare them to meet the challenges they will face in the world. GCA is the only Christian school in the northeast Columbus area that offers Pre-school through 12 th grade. Students come to GCA from over 100 different churches representing many denominations but with a common desire to grow in Christ and fulfill His purpose for their lives in home, church, and society.

Much has been accomplished during the last 26 years, but so much remains to be done. As we labor together to equip our students to follow God’s will and achieve success in all areas of their lives, we must constantly upgrade our educational tools, support structures, and facilities so they are adequately prepared.

As you prayerfully step forward to help us achieve our common goal, consider which of the following areas God would have you partner with us in more fully developing. Contributions to these designated funds will be maintained separate from normal operating funds and carefully accounted for to insure they are used for their intended purpose.

Staff Recruitment & Retention Fund – To permit increases in benefits and salaries for staff that are not possible through normal tuition funding. This funding will allow for improved recruitment and retention of GCA’s exceptional staff. Need -- $70,000 initially, sustaining amounts depend on the increases provided.
Financial Assistance Program Fund – To provide a measure of assistance to families financially unable to afford the full cost of a quality Christian education for their children.
Need -- $50,000 per year.
Curriculum / Educational Materials / Library Fund – To purchase books, audiovisual equipment and other educational materials needed to assure a strong academic program.
Need -- $20,000 per year.
Technology Enhancement Program – Funds are used to update computer and other technology for students and staff at ECA – extending access to computers throughout GCA. Need -- $20,000 per year sustaining.
Art, Drama, Music, Science, or Athletic Programs – Funds are used to purchase materials and equipment used in these crucial programs that help our students explore and develop their talents. Funds will be maintained separately for each program.
Need -- $5,000 per program
General Fund – Used for operating expenses such as the current teacher/staff salaries and benefits, equipment, supplies, routine maintenance of facilities, etc. Need -- $80,000 per year.

TOTAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM GOAL FOR 2006 - 2007 -- $265,000
