New Class offered at GCA: Senior Seminar
This class is a comprehensive and mandatory course for all 12th grade students. This course builds upon the curriculum taught in the College and Career and Financial Literacy classes. This course foucus is on postsecondary education and/or plans for life after high school. Students will participate in every phase of college preparation and planning—researching and matching with colleges, writing personal statements, submitting applications and financial aid forms, applying for scholarships and exploring careers and other postsecondary options. In addition students will strengthen and develop post-secondary life skills with units and activities regarding decision making, campus life, college issues, and a review of financial literacy issues such as credit cards, debt and budgeting.

This class of 35 students was offered almost $3.8 million in scholarship monies!
We had three students that were offered full ride scholarships to Spellman University, American University and University of Cincinnati
Seven students in this class graduated with a weighted GPA above 4.0
To graduate from GCA a student must contribute 60 hours of community service during their four years of high school. This class had a total of 7047 hours!!
